Just a joke

Ok, so, I try to make my jokes obvious, and for the most part I think I succeed. Anyone who actually reads what I write should be able to tell if I’m joking or not, unless their sarcasm detector has completely broken down and they take everything they read absolutely literally. Some what like creationists and the Bible. But sometimes I am shocked by some people. When I make claims such as “gay people eat babies” do people actually think I’m being serious? Just because I add the word “honest” to the end of a sentence isn’t meant to strengthen my conviction, quite the opposite. If you’re a regular to the strip you should know what I’m talking about, if not basically I did a comic about the gay agenda in America, and how some republicans actually believe that gay people have a sinister plot. My commentary was a pisstake, a mockery of what these people believe. It was the simple -take a few things they believe and then add in a few gross exaggerations for comedic effect- tack. A technique used by many a comedian over the years, easy enough to spot. Well, apparently not judging by some of the comments and emails I received. So, for future reference, take what I write with a pinch of salt, you only make a fool out of yourself when you send me emails written totally in capitals describing me as a “FUCKING HOMOPHOBE, A BACKWARDS PIECE OF SHIT” etc. As lovely as they are to read perhaps you should take the time to read a few of the other pages on the site and judge whether or not I’m being serious?

Oh, and if you still want to hurl capitalised abuse at me, feel free to use the contact form

that gay agenda sarcasm was hillarious btw
i could tell you were joking,
its the women who have gay friends that take offence when even the gay people dont

Hey. I’m a woman, wiht gay friends and I didn’t take offence at all. The problem with people today, is they’re so scared of being judged for what they say. They’re scared of society condembing them. What bothers me, is my friend admitted to being homophobic and everyone jumped on him like they owuld have 10, 15 years ago if someone admitted they were gay. He wasn’t being disrespectful or cruel, or mean or bigotted in any way. He was just mentioning it made him uncomfortable. People always need SOMEONE to judge, don’t they?… Sorry.. my own little rant on your comments…

Hey normally don’t comment on these things but here we go. The author here uses one of my favorite literary devices known as the satire. He takes a point and exaggerates it well beyond reality. This is normally done to make a point and normally comes off as being humorous and entertaining. I fail to see how anyone can take an obvious satire and misconstrue this as a personal attack against what ever group happened to be involved in the satire. Also I wish to let people know they need to grow a thicker skin. Things like this are just words. In todays society actual violence against people is frowned upon unlike 30 or 40 years ago when people would be shunned or killed for personal choices. In todays society you should be able to take a bigot’s words for what they are worth nothing. I as a white mail conservative Christian end up the target of many of these such comments. They are trying to take over. He is deluding himself with his beliefs. He is keeping women/ethnic minorities down. I take these comments for what they are worth. I dismiss them as the ramblings of the ignorant and the arrogant and continue about my business. So before you all start ranting down here about something offending you, stop and think is this making me sound like an idiot.

Your jokes are about as funny as cancer(which is true with all your cancer jokes)

Cancer Jokes are like AIDS jokes, both unfunny.
Also, your rants are appalling, you put the word seriously at the beginning of each sentence and try oh so hard to be just like Maddox. It’s pretty sad to read, it’s like reading something by an angsty 13 year old teenager who’s getting dumped by his girlfriend everyday.

You create a piss poor excuse for Satire, mostly it’s just bad sarcasm, sarcasm is not something which can be communicated by writing. Sarcasm is communicated through speech, not via a shitty webcomic created by some bored guy from university with a laptop.

    Good day sir.

    Your mum….

Maddox is a peon, part of the proletariat as are you. Cancer jokes rule, it is a lucky guy who breaks up with his girlfriend every day, as it means no need to phone them every night due to breaking up and also great make up sex.

    This webcomic is great.

    Shut up or get out!
