Eyephone
Bah, I hate the iphone. There’s so much hype about how great it is, and everyone who has one is so smug about it. The annoying thing is that whilst is looks pretty the features are somewhat lacking. There’s no 3G, sure it has wi-fi, but what about when I’m not in the city? And it’s only available on the one network. Apple decided to chose one network for each country, except in a few where they were forced to open up the market. Why the hell is it only available on one network, pfft, stupid idea.
There’s no VOIP! The main attraction of the phone is the internet on the go, but surely this could have been combined with internet calls? I guess no network would have carried them if they offered it. But what about mms? And video calls? Not on the iphone. And whilst you have the internet, it’s just not the full internet Steve Jobs promised, there’s no flash or java, which wipes out a lot of what I do on the internet. No removable battery! What? Anyone who has an apple product knows the batteries have a short life, so when it does run out you will be left without a phone whilst you send yours in for a new battery. The iphone was hailed as the blackberry killer, but for some reason Apple stupidly still uses polling email methods, such as POP3, whereas blackberries use impressive amounts of compressionthe iphone just doesn’t. Which is concerning if you’re a heavy user and are charged for data transfer. But it’s not like you’ll be doing any downloading, or even taking many films with you on the 8 gb harddrive. And even though the hdd is small, don’t worry about filling it up with hires photos, because the iphone only comes with a 2 mp camera.
Basically, the iphone is an overhyped, over priced piece of technology that does some of what other phones do already. But it does it in a stylish way and is totally cool, and I really want one.
Anyway, it’s a new month! Which means the toplists have reset their topscores. So to encourage to you to keep voting, there’s a new reward up, which you can get here and here. Guess what, today is the 99th comic, so for Monday’s 100th comic I should have something interesting to tell you. Have a good weekend!

Even I hate the iPhone - you missed out that you have to pay for it, and the contract; most phones in England are now free as a result!!

I absolutely love the Ipods and the Iphone. I got the mini when it came out (no, not the nano. The mini- it’s like two years old now :P ) and I loved that too. But I don’t get what you mean about the battery life. Well, sort of. My mini only has like an hour’s battery life, but it’s two years old man! Are the later apple models that bad???
I need a new one actually. Those new fat little nanos look really cool. I don’t need a phone, I already have one. It’s awful (when it messed up once, I took it to the telus guys at our mall and they said, “Oh, one of these ones huh? They have a lot of problems”) but it works so I have no real reason to get a new one. Sob.
I miss having tons of disposable income.

Merserve = He’s not talking about how many hours the battery has in one charge, he’s talking about the fact that the batteries die after a while, and you have to get a new ones. Apparently apple batteries die quickly, i wouldn’t know my iPods on 4months old.
Anyway, like the comic, this is infact my first comment, just started reading through the archives.

The harddrive is *small*? Not from everyone’s view. :P Each of my two harddrive don’t even quite hit 6GB, and I don’t even have 500MB on my pda total, including memory card.
